"I may no longer be as fast and strong as before
but I am still the same runner who gives her all.
I still push myself to the point that my heart and legs can barely handle.
I may be weaker on the road or trail
but I am a stronger person in facing what life gives me.
but I am a stronger person in facing what life gives me.
I learn everyday to live with this thorn in the flesh."
This is part of the story about my battle against hypothyroidism published in the January 2015 Frontrunner issue. It was a privilege and an honor to be featured.
It is very timely since January is Hypothyroidism Awareness Month.
When I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and had to deal with its depressing effects, one thing that comforted me was the thought of having the opportunity to share it with others especially to runners so they'd be more cautious; share lessons learned to inspire in one way or another those who may be going through tough times; and be living testimony to God's goodness, grace and love.
In this blog, I will talk more about this. For now I encourage you to get a copy of the Frontrunner magazine to read the entire article as well as other write ups.
Have fun reading. We'd love to hear from you too.
